Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history. We are seeking a self-starting, motivated Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our dedicated Southern California field site team.

The team designs, develops, tests, delivers, and operates advanced prototype, unique marine systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to support a variety of unique mechanical equipment designed for marine applications. This involves a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines including mechanical design; structural analysis; bolted joint design; thermal analysis; pressure vessels; material selection; hydraulic and pneumatic system design, component selection, troubleshooting, and repair; and metallic and non-metallic fabrication techniques that will leverage the candidate's existing skills and challenge them to develop new skills.

The Principal Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Candidate must be able to work closely with customer personnel and other engineers and work within challenging schedules. Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Willingness to deploy for 45-day durations as a mechanical engineering subject matter expert is a bonus. This position requires an active top secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related curriculum and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with a MS)

- Exposure to 3D mechanical CAD tools, MS Office suite tools

- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD software

- Marine environment engineering experience

- Proficient with textbook calculations and finite element analysis

- Experience with cranes and weight handling equipment

- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic design, component selection, and troubleshooting

- GD&T proficiency

- Team player capable of working closely with customer personnel

- Desire to deploy with customer

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
