The candidate selected for this role will work under the supervision and be mentored by our highly trained technology teams to learn the business and the nature of work performed in the assigned area to develop your professional career.

In this role, team members are responsible for facilitating the scrum process on self-contained scrum teams.  You will be responsible to guide the scrum team(s) and the organization to follow generally accepted Agile/Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization practices, team readiness, and commitments for each Sprint.  This will be executed using  empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum Maturity and optimize scrum team velocity.  The scrum master will manage to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance. You will also proactively remove impediments to the team's agility and guides team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers.  The scrum master will help the scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Partners with discipline managers to convey their expectations to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards.
  • Partners with Product Owner to ensure the continuous refinement of backlog, and that sprint goals are understood by the team members.
  • Facilitates and is accountable for owning the Scrum Agile ceremonies for the scrum team.
  • Partners with Product owners, Program or Project Managers to communicate delivery of work product from the scrum team and escalates key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness.
  • Identifies skills and competencies of scrum team members and makes adjustments accordingly to promote development and highly effective teams

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of practical Agile experience (e.g. Product Owner, Business Analyst, Developer on a scrum team, Project Manager, or Business System Consultant working directly with scrum teams), practicing Scrum Master, or a combination of both



Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • Agile Scrum (CSM), SAFE certifications or other advanced Agile certifications
  • 1+ year of experience coaching and developing a team
  • 1+ years of experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting
  • Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Experience successfully collaborating with others in a change driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Applicants should be attendees of the GHC 2021 event
  • Professional experience through internships, part-time or full-time work, and/or demonstrated leadership experience in academics or a community setting
  • Experience with software technology systems
  • Ability to learn from and interact with a diverse set of team members in a very fast paced and dynamic environment
  • A desire to learn and grow your portfolio of various businesses and technologies
  • Experience supporting technology development efforts within a major line of business
