Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Program Director 1, Systems Engineering (SE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

The SE IPT lead role is responsible for the coordination, staffing and fulfillment of all SE related contract, NCTA, and capital activities. This position is focused on leading a team of experienced managers, senior technical experts and the overall strategic direction of the systems engineering efforts on a complex and critical system.

This position will:

Provide leadership to the Systems Engineering team with respect to:

Development and tracking of system requirements and verification activities that are consistent with program level priorities and contractual requirements

Development of comprehensive architectural models that define key capabilities and features that assure compliance to requirements

Definition, development and tracking of a comprehensive design-to-cost model and life-cycle cost analysis tools that support system design and support

Support of cross-segment integration and performance modeling associated with the design, development, integration and test of a complex system

Development and evaluation of system performance defined through physics-based constructive analysis and virtual simulation tool sets

Development and tracking of systems information and software management tools that support the software development activities

Tracking the hardware and software safety hazards, causal factors and associated mitigations

Development of requirements and design implementation of cyber security and anti-tamper design aspects and associated verification approaches

Definition of applicable airworthiness criteria and the associated impact to requirements, design and verification activities

Definition of applicable specialty engineering (i.e human factors, vulnerability, EMI) and the associated impact to requirements, design and verification activities

This role will be a key member of our leadership team to enable the definition of key requirements and performance that is consistent with customer expectations, as well as continual improvement of program-wide processes and procedures that improve cost, schedule and quality of the delivered products.  This role reports to the Program Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's degree AND 10 years’ of related professional and/or military experience that includes a background in program/project management within the Aerospace and Defense industry, OR a Master’s degree AND 8 years’ of related professional and/or military experience that includes a background in program/project management within the Aerospace and Defense industry.

Must have at least 5 years’ experience in systems engineering, or integration, and/or systems test engineering.

Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance in-scope (full investigation within the last 6 years).

Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas, including strong executive communication and presentation skills

Experience leading projects and/or teams

Ability to deliver and sustain measurable results

Current Special Program Access (PAR)

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance in-scope

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
