Technical Program Mgr, Green Chemistry 5774BR Golisano Institute for Sustainability CIMS Pollution Prevention Institute Detailed Job Description The NYS Pollution Prevention Institute (NYS P2I) is seeking a visionary Technical Program Manager to help take our green chemistry program to the next level. This is a senior level position and the successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of green chemistry concepts, key issues facing industry and consumers, program management and strategic management skills to lead the NYSP2I green chemistry program. The incumbent will contribute to existing NYSP2I efforts in green chemistry as well as leading efforts to identify new high impact chemical issues and establish an innovative program to address these issues through internal R&D, mentoring staff and students and securing additional external funding. The Green Chemistry, Technical Program Manager will identify high value projects relevant to key issues in the environmental footprint of New York State and beyond. These projects may include research and development, coordinating sectors of key industrial partners for applied work, situational analysis to inform government policy, and seeking funding from state and national entities to enhance staff and facility capabilities. Major responsibilities include: Develop, lead, and execute business plan for green chemistry research activities and projects. This includes developing business plans and projects, conducting outreach/business development, and managing overall program scope, resources, deliverables. Lead proposal development to seek additional funding from state and national sources to expand program scope. Trains, mentors, and leads technical teams of researchers, engineers, and students in executing projects in green chemistry and development of new green chemistry methodologies and capabilities. Develop organizational capability in chemical issues by overseeing relationship management with internal and external stakeholders, leading and presenting research/project results in reports publications, white papers, meetings, or the like. Required Minimum Qualifications This position requires a Masters in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience. Additionally it requires a valid driver's license. Special skills required: Knowledge of key NY State and/or National chemistry issues Network of green chemistry experts and participation in national green chemistry fora.
