Job Description

We’re seeking an innovative, highly motivated, and experienced Senior Scientist to join the Infectious Disease and Vaccines department at our research site in West Point, PA. The candidate will have a primary role on a highly collaborative team of scientists from vaccine and vaccines, biologics discovery, structural chemistry, bioinformatics and pharmacology to conceive, design, and implement experiments to advance vaccine and drug development. for infectious diseases. The candidate should have a strong background in protein biochemistry, structural biology, and cutting-edge methodologies on related to vaccine design. The candidate will be expected to understand and solve challenging issues innovatively and independently and to show a high degree of innovation.. Critical to success will be defined as the ability to design experiments, interpret and track results, and utilize this information for vaccine and drug development. The candidate must demonstrate well-developed skills for effective communication of scientific information and should have a strong history of publication in peer-reviewed journals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

•           Antigen design, production and evaluation in vitro and in vivo

•           Characterization of antigen/antibody interaction, epitope mapping

•           Data interpretation and presentation, manuscript/patent preparation


  • PhD with >1 year postdoctoral experience


  • Solid knowledge in structural biology and modeling, experience in structural based protein design
  • Proven track record in protein biochemistry and molecular techniques, including molecular cloning, cell culture, protein expression, purification and characterization
  • Proficient in biochemical and immunological assays (ELISA, SPR, WB, FACS, etc.)
  • Independent experimental design and execution, analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix team environment
  • Demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals


  • Knowledgeable of drug/vaccine discovery and experience in translational research
  • Experience in virology, bacteriology and animal models is desirable
