Position Summary

Position Summary:

Provide technical support to the process engineers to ensure production goals are met and productivity improvements are made.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

1. Provide technical and administrative support to process engineering including data collection, data entry and filing.
2. Assist in review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment and processes.
3. Assist in new process and product implementation on manufacturing floor.
4. Assure safe environment and support process improvements related to safety, including environmental and ergonomics.
5. Support cost reduction and productivity improvements through continuous improvement (value stream) projects.
6. Support the Process Engineers in leading the Cost (Productivity) site wide star point team and lead the high performance teams in maintaining the cost side of their TIB.
7. Perform A3 root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
8. Support new part and ECO approvals
9. Participate in escalation process on shop floor.
10. Validate and improve process capabilities.
11. Troubleshoot and problem solve on the production floor on process through review of day by hour sheets.
12. Review, revise and draft standard operating procedures, including work instructions, process documents, batch cards.
13. Train operators, supervisors and other employees on new equipment and/or new processes.
14. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing /technical experience, preferably in a manufacturing capacity; preferred associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Strong statistical, analytical and decision-making sense of urgency skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools (e.g. fishbone, 5Why’s).
• Six Sigma Green Belt, a plus.
• Technical writing experience (SOPs, work instructions, safety documents).
• Proficient in MS office software including Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
• Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability and willingness to work with others.
• Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
