Kelly Science & Clinical is thrilled to be hiring a (Direct Hire) Quality Assurance Technician III for a new food manufacturing company in NE Portland! The QA Technician’s will assist in the maintenance of overall product quality and safety and Assists in the effective completion of tasks and documentation of Food Safety and Quality responsibilities.

Schedule: Swing shift M-Thurs- 4PM-2:30AM

Pay rate: $20.75/hr + DOE

Job Requirements:

  • Routinely observes production activities in cook room and packaging related to HACCP, SSOP, GMPs and other Quality related activities to assure consistency and conformance to standards, as well as providing improvement suggestions.

  • Supervise standards and controls in relation to the production and packaging of high-quality soups.

  • Conducts Food Safety Inspections in the production environment (i.e. inter-batch cleaning, verification audits)

  • Responsible for completing Daily, Weekly and Monthly tasks including Direct Observations, Thaw Tank and Temperature Verifications, and Pre-operational inspection audits

  • Complete Quality related production records utilizing paper records and SafetyChain software.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in maintaining adherence to IP Programs which may include Organic Processing, Non-GMO, Gluten free, Halal, Kosher

  • Takes action when non-conformances are noted, including placing products on hold, initiating root cause investigations and completing food safety incident/deviation reports

  • Audits HACCP documentation to ensure all records are accurate, complete and filed

  • Maintain finished product and equipment on hold records.

  • May generate formal complaints for raw material suppliers.

  • Assists Quality Management with collecting and inputting data and assisting with the generation of reports.

  • Interprets testing data and makes decisions related to production specifications

  • Assists Quality Management with incident investigations by collecting and reviewing information and generation of reports.

  • Assist with compliance to GFSI standards by completion of internal audits weekly.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to take care of problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Skills/Experience:

  • Associates degree (A. A.) in a related field or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred

  • 1 + years related quality experience.

  • BS in Food Science or Relevant Life Science Degree in lieu of experience.
