Job Description

The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for assisting with our strategic planning and day to day production of Harbor Freight's Email Marketing and SMS efforts. A key focus of this role will be advancing our personalization efforts and producing our highly personalized campaigns; leveraging internal resources and partnerships.
This role is also responsible for the managing a rigorous testing agenda, maintaining email list health and weekly performance reporting, and oversees a small team of email marketing associates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive the day-to-day campaign setup for automated and manual email campaign launches.
  • Execute marketing campaigns in a timely manner.
  • Hire, train, and develop direct reports; plan and evaluate team work activities.
  • Optimize campaigns through the use of enhanced segmentation, customization, and machine learning.
  • Own and monitor all email channel KPI's, and work proactively to optimize the program's effectiveness
  • Drive QA process on all campaigns; ensuring content accuracy, functioning links, and assess segmentation/audience settings
  • Strive to optimize email campaigns against key performance metrics including open and click rates.
  • Analyze the performance of your campaigns, summarize key insights, and offer recommended next steps.
  • Help drive improvements and/or evolve email templates and email capabilities.
  • Multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Keeping up to date with email marketing best practices and strategies.
  • Create a rigorous testing strategy via test and learn approach with focus on customization, offers, segmentation, content, and frequency
  • Monitor and develop new initiatives to drive list growth
  • Manage the email calendar working collaboratively with the merchandise, promotions and creative teams to support go to market plans and business trends

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5years of Email Marketing Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience using an email service provider (ESP) platform(s).
    • Experience in Oracle Responsys a Plus
  • Experience with SMS
Job Qualifications- Skills
  • Understanding and consideration of CAN-SPAM and other email requirements
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills a plus
  • Understanding of digital marketing principles, specifically email marketing best practices
  • High attention to detail, deadlines, and accuracy with minimum supervision
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metric driven environment
  • Ability to make sound decisions with a strong sense of urgency, possessing a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and objectivity
  • Excellent team player with a positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively to drive projects to successful completion
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, who can work independently and proactively
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple threads of work in a fast-paced environment
