Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) is the provider of advanced electrical scanned antenna (AESA) radar sensor systems for multiple platforms including: the U.S. Navy___s F/A-18 Aircraft, the Air Force___s F/A-15 Aircraft, and the Gen 5.x Family of Systems (FOS) Radars for multiple platforms. These AESA Radar Systems provide the war fighter with the most accurate and timely information available for the network-centric battlefield. The Systems Engineering Center within the Secured Sensor Solutions Mission Area is seeking committed engineering leaders who are passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective solutions for the warfighter. This highly dynamic environment requires both speed and efficiency in addition to maintaining product quality, functionality and traceability. The ideal applicant is a proven leader who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, including individual contributors, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate must also understand and apply the principles of systems engineering, systems architecting, and be able to successfully plan, develop, and manage the full suite of design and test specifications.

The Future Aircraft Systems and Technology Department is seeking a Systems Engineer who is passionate about helping us develop and deliver our products to the warfighter. Specifically, a Systems Engineer who can developed well-articulated requirements, manage those requirements in DOORS, including performing requirements traceability throughout the spec tree, communicating with other IPTs regarding, and ultimately compiling verification artifacts in DOORS and perform requirements sell-off. This leader must also be able to successfully develop, manage, and maintain the specifications and specification trees that govern the system design. Additionally, this leader will be instrumental in delivering high-quality presentations to internal and external customers. This department provides the full range of systems design, analysis, integration, verification, and validation activities in support of RIS radar programs.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead system level integration and test planning, design, and execution
  • Lead peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test requirements verification
  • Maximize DOORS to capture verification artifacts and maintain traceability to requirements
  • Develop detailed integration and verification procedures
  • Lead integration and test activities in house or at site locations
  • Lead in Root Cause Analysis utilizing Raytheon Technologies Best Practices (R6Sigma) and Tools to identify and analyze Radar System anomalies
  • Deliver technical and programmatic presentations to both internal and external customers
  • Lead design reviews, test/production readiness reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews as required to keep the Team on track
  • Lead new/follow-on business proposals and ROMs as required by the program
  • Provide development feedback and information back to functional organizations

Required Skills:
  • Domain Knowledge
    • Demonstrated extensive Systems Engineering experience with a track record of results
    • A minimum of 8 years experence in Systems Engineering development lifecycle and change management process
    • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with Software, Integration and Verification teams
    • Experience working in DOORS or similar requirements management tool
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
    • Experience with the execution of technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMS) and Independent Reviews (IRs) for gates

    • Actively engages, drives change to achieve execution excellence and solve critical issues
    • Examples of leading a technical team in advanced radar development efforts

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using DOORS, Enterprise Architect and JIRA or similar tools
  • Experience in integration, and/or verification and validation
  • Experience leading the development, decomposition, and sell off of requirements within DOORS
  • Experience executing requirements analyses and developing DXL scripts within DOORS
  • Experience developing specification trees, including complementary Integration and Test specification trees
  • Working knowledge and experience with Radar system architectures, Design, Hardware Integration, and Test.
  • Integration and Test experience with demonstrated ability to execute test plans, develop test artifacts, and sell-off requirements
  • Experience with Gherkin/Cucumber to develop test scenarios that fully capture the intended requirements set under test
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple efforts concurrently
  • Experience as a IV&V Lead or Technical Lead on a previous program
  • Strong work ethic, Leads by example

Required Education: BS Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, System Engineering or related discipline.
Desired Education: MS Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, System Engineering or related discipline.

U.S. Citizenship status is a requirement, as this position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
