Join the Storied FBM team and help shape and integrate the next generation D5 missile\. The successful candidate will perform cost management and Earned Value Management \(EVM\) Super Bus Ops \(SBOPS\) activities on the D5 Life Extension 2 \(D5LE2\) program\.


• The technical lead for avionics architecture definition and overall avionics systems engineering\. Starting with business development initiatives and then technical leadership of avionics architecture concepts and definition through product qualification starting with the data bus R&D project\.

• In addition, the data bus R&D project will involve significant collaboration with customer, co\-contractors, and system level trade studies to explore maximizing the flexibility and modularity to support system level implementation\.

• Define and document requirements, develop analysis plans, participate in design and documentation reviews, trade studies, reviewing all technical documents and analyses, technical lead interfacing with suppliers, and ensuring requirements compliance\.

• Travel to the various LM Navy Strategic Program facilities, customer, and supplier locations\.


• 14 \- 20\+ years of professional experience\.

• Willing to obtain and maintain a **DoD Top Secret clearance** , thus **US Citizenship** is required\.

**Basic Qualifications:**

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education\.

• Previous technical lead of a subsystem or electrical component\.

• Experience in electronic and computing systems\.

• Previous exposure to electrical design such as:

\- Digital Design \(VHDL, AHDL, FPGA, ASIC\),

\- Analog Design \(SPICE\)

\- Power Electronics \(DC to DC converters, power control, EMI/EMR/EMC, filtering\)

\- Communications \(Network data flow\)

\- CCA design \(Layout, Traces, Ridged Flex, Heat management\)

\- Packaging \(Chassis\)

\- Software \(BIOS, Services, Application, BIT\)

\- Production / Acceptance Testing

• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance\.

**Desired Skills:**

• Five years or more experience as a technical lead of a subsystem or electrical component \(e\.g\., Certified Principal Engineer or Responsible Systems Engineer\)\.

• Prior missile, guided projectile, or missile defense experience\.

• Demonstrated capability to work with other companies and cross functional teams in a formative environment, as evidenced by excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to organize, motivate, and lead a group of diverse personnel that includes customers, partners, and suppliers\.

• Experience across the engineering development lifecycle, including research & development, requirements decomposition, subsystem architecture and design, implementation, integration, test and verification, and deployment\)

• Expertise with model\-based engineering \(MBE\) tools and approaches \(e\.g\. Zuken, Saber, SysML tool usage\) including requirements tools such as DOORS\.

• Experience coordinating disciplines to produce design artifacts relating to avionics systems, including block and interface diagrams, system descriptions, technical evaluations, supplier documentation, and basic integration and test plans\.

• Experience in electrical design and integration, electronic packages, networks, data bus and cable technologies\.

• Knowledge of a broad set of computer and common aircraft technologies and interfaces \(e\.g\. sensors, mission systems, software designs, Ethernet, 1553\)\.

• Strong communication skills, and experience presenting to peers, leadership, and/or customers\.

• Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment\.

• Knowledge of LMCO and LM Space programs and command media is highly desirable\.

• Possess a DoD Top Secret security clearance or higher\.
