Director - Global Business Intelligence & Analytics

Impact: Be part of the new global function and capability within the organization by partnering with the regional and local analytics teams, as well as the global insights  leadership team, tasked with improving and delivering global understanding of market/ channel dynamics and drivers of growth and enable the delivery of short to long-term growth and profit objectives.  This means a thorough understanding of performance data globally across the various markets (financials, shares, category and segment dynamics) and the drivers of performance


Leadership/People Management: Manage and lead an analytics team, providing vision to team structure and analytic capabilities; ensuring we identify and recruit the right people in the right roles to be successful


Process Improvement: Deliver improved capabilities, scale, and impact by establishing robust and harmonized data sources, data analytics processes, and ways of working with cross-functional leaders. Developing analytics tools and capabilities that enable performance transparency and coordination, while improving functionality and usability for the organization.


Strategy Development: Drive a variety of high-impact, high-profile strategic projects to deliver our global growth aspirations via translating data into clear insights and actionable recommendations to rally the organization.


Stakeholder Management: Positioned to influence and interact closely with global business functions (Sales, Marketing, Customer Solutions, Finance, Supply Chain, IT) providing clear visibility to how broader groups access and utilize market data & insights to deliver business and cross-functional goals.


Supplier Management:   Tasked to drive strong relationships with DATA PROVIDERS (for example but not limited to Nielsen/ Aztec (Australia), IWSR, Euromonitor and other global providers ,  On-Prem data sources)  to maximize return on investment  of the data acquisition,  ROI measured on the basis of HIGH QUALITY DATA and operational support models that deliver strong value add thought leadership to benefit Beam Suntory


Role Responsibilities

  • Explore & manage data from disparate sources to improve visibility and understanding
  • Generate deep & actionable business insights, incorporating consumption-based data sources, deep global business understanding, market consumer, and category to directly inform and shape near and long-term business decisions
  • Deliver compelling action-oriented action recommendations base on holistic insights and high caliber analytics (either on the outcomes – shares, growth or drivers of outcome, price, promotion, distribution, channel dynamics etc or mining for business opportunities within our selling regions and assessing post-program ROIs)
  • Develop and drive the development and adoption of analytic best practices across the globe enabling scaled impact.
  • Integrate and engage cross-functional stakeholders to demonstrate analytic impact and decisions enabled with strong data 
  • Demonstrate rethinking and developing effective workflows and processes for analytics across the organization, identifying unmet needs, challenges, inefficiencies, and duplication
  • Develop global capabilities to drive analytic rigor and focus across our functional teams
  • Be part of the global insights team that represent analytics serving as a thought partner and sounding board for the business leaders by developing compelling data-driven insights
  • Serve as the one-stop-shop and source of truth of all global commercial performance and outlook questions within Beam Suntory using vetted information from countries and regions
  • Translate complex concepts into meaningful data-driven stories that resonate with both Leadership and non-technical audiences within the broader Beam Suntory organization
  • Champion an objective, data-driven culture


Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience of commercial/ business analytics with strong application experience (Client Side)
  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Business Analytics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics / Statistics /Computer Science
  • Proven experience in synthesizing and driving business impact utilizing information from multiple disparate sources (including but not limited to Nielsen/IRI syndicated data, distributor data, first-party retailer data)
  • Analytical and strategic mindset to think about the near- and longer-term team and evolution of analytics capabilities
  • Proficiency reporting / analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau) is required
  • Basic knowledge in Modelling skills (R, Python, SPSS, SAS)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with proven track record of using insights to influence executive sand colleagues to action
  • Industry experience in AlcBev is a plus, CPG experience a must
