The Engineered Items Commodity Manager reports to the Engineered Items Associate Director in Collins Aerospace Supply Chain Commodity group. The manager will work with the Power and Controls business units to develop and execute strategic sourcing projects to support the commodities cost reduction and relationship management strategies. This role is focused on creating and executing passport reviews and strategic relationship ___sandbox___ strategies for key suppliers and projects. The manager works closely with the commodity team to determine the supplier designation and growth profile in the context of the commodity strategy. In addition, the manager will be responsible for key global suppliers with multiple relations across the various Collins SBUs and define the strategy on the enterprise level. The selected candidate will be expected to support and participate in a team environment that is dedicated to continuous improvement while being an active participant in their own skills development.

The candidate will be responsible to establish and manage the following:

  • Leading cost reduction roadmaps including execution of Passport projects thru P3

  • Evaluate sourcing options to align and leverage business unit awards

  • Lead/support negotiations on both contracts and commercial issues

  • Support and develop relationship management and strategy across multiple sites

This individual can sit at Collins Aerospace locations in Charlotte, NC, Cedar Rapids, IA, Rockford, IL or Windsor Locks, CT or possibly remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The role will focus on working with various team members located at the different BUs to ensure data integrity from various systems

  • A key activity will be to develop and execute standard cost reduction, contract negotiations, assertion resolution, including transition to production and for supply base transitions.

  • The individual will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the team meets key performance indicators in terms of delivery, quality, cost, contract execution, and project management

  • The role requires direct interface with Senior Management within the Supply Chain Management functional organization and serves as the link between the various business units.

  • Understanding how to negotiate with suppliers with complex relationships and obtain successful resolutions as defined by the Business Unit and Supply Chain Management.

  • The individual must adhere to procurement manual guidelines and exhibit ethical business behaviors at all times.__

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor___s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.__ In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident ___Green Card___ holder

  • Must be willing and able to travel 20%-25% of the time (domestic & international)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering/Supply Chain/Manufacturing or related area with a continued proven track record of performance achievement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor___s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology or other Business related field. Master___s degree in a related field

  • Database management

  • Knowledge of supply chain management

  • Negotiating with suppliers

  • Project/program Management

  • Cost sensitivity and business judgement with proven bottom line results

  • Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment
