Overview

Bardon Inc. d/b/a Aggregate Industries, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States and a member of LaFargeHolcim, has an immediate openings for a Mechanic Trainee to support our Asphalt Contracting Operations in Clinton, Maryland. The incumbent will be trained to perform Perventative Maintenace on various pieces of equipment used to support our Asphalt Contracting fleet, through diagnosis and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
  • Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Adheres to all safety protocol to include confined space entry, lock-out-tag-out, working at heights, wearing appropriate safety glasses, gloves and other personal protective equipment, as well as all OSHA, MSHA requirements.
  • Learn how to complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) on asphalt equipment and company fleet vehicles, including diagnosis and repair
  • Change hydraulic hoses, learn what to look for, and how to de-energize hoses if necessary. Learn how to make hydraulic hoses.
  • Change tires on pickups and or dump trucks. (You will task trained on the duties)
  • Change Fan belts on various pieces of equipment
  • Change light bulbs, various voltage systems
  • Remove and replace hydraulic pumps and motors
  • Electrical: Remove and replace wires, fuses, relays, solenoid starters and alternators
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area
  • Uses the appropriate tools for the required tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation
