Our ICS team is looking for an experienced information security leader to join our Threat Detection Services team as the manager of the Evolving Threats team.  The manager will be responsible for leading a team of roughly 8-10 in identifying, evaluating, and testing emerging and evolving cyber attack methodologies and tools to ensure Wells Fargo remains ahead-of-the-curve in proactive defense against potential future cyber threats. General duties include managing daily operations, facilitating cyber attack simulations, training red and blue team partners, identifying opportunities to operationalize research and intelligence for defensive cyber operations, and tactical coordination with other information security teams. The position involves regular interactions with executive leadership and business-aligned security leaders. 

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of malicious computer network operations, cyber attack methodologies and tools, and how to operationalize cyber intelligence to enhance cyber defense tools, techniques, and processes.

Key Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Daily operational management for research and exploit testing activity.
  • Oversee the Evolving Threat program framework and maintain the cyber range for Wells Fargo technology.
  • Deep understanding and experience in using cyber intelligence, and exploit research and analysis to enhance defensive tools and processes.
  • Develop partnerships with Wells Fargo’s existing security teams across the lines of business.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on actual or perceived events as well as reviewing emerging technologies and tools for IS and other lines of business.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology experience
  • 3+ years of experience with strategic planning in a technology environment
  • 2+ years of experience with leadership in an enterprise technology environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing cybercrime detection, investigation, and intelligence strategies



Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing large technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • 3+ years of information security experience including experience in one or more of the following security disciplines: information security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, host/network forensics, cyber-crime investigation, penetration testing, business continuity, or cyber threat intelligence
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5 + years of experience with sophisticated cyber threat actor Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTPs) intelligence
  • Hands-on experience with information security tools such as an enterprise SIEM solution, IDS/IPS, endpoint security solutions, email/web security gateways, and other security detection/mitigation devices
  • Experience with host and/or network log analysis as applied to incident response / threat hunting
  • Knowledge of offensive security, with the ability to think like an adversary when hunting and responding to incidents
  • Strong experience in operating system and application security hardening and best practices
  • Strong investigative mindset with an attention to detail
  • Experience with multiple operating systems to include Windows, Mac OS, and Unix/Linux
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, ability to develop effective long-term solutions to complex problems
