Business Information Consultant (Pharmacy Trend & Cost of Care Analytics)

This position may be located in the following Anthem offices and is eligible for a remote schedule

The Business Information Consultant (Pharmacy Trend & Cost of Care Analytics) is responsible for coordinating, analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations on data related to Pharmacy cost of care, pharmacy trends, and other Medicare book of business related issues/metrics.

 Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide pharmacy spend/trend insights and diagnostics on specific drivers of trend for Medicare Part D Individual/Group businesses.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. claims data, provider data, utilization data, unit cost data, KPI metrics) and provides notations of performance anomalies and deviations from expectations.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as ad hoc reports as needed. May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • Make recommendations based upon data analysis.
  • Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers.
  • Supports multiple internal levels of management in the analysis and evaluation of initiatives, projects, and issues.



Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years financial analysis experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.
  • Ability to manipulate, model, and summarize large sets of data.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.
  • Pharmacy or Healthcare analytics experience preferred
  • Medicare Part D experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate level of Excel is required, advanced preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with SAS and/or SQL is  required
  • Actuarial background is a plus
