Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is looking for three Mgr. Software Engineering 1 to lead a team of talented software engineers and ensure quality engineering support to programs, IRADs and new business pursuits in the Mission Planning and Decision Support (MPDS) Operating Unit. The location of this position is at Beavercreek, OH. The Software Engineering Manager 1 will be working alongside fellow software engineering professionals, as we continue to develop and improve the software products for our customers. The position supports the engineering organization goals for providing people, processes and tools to meet the current and future needs of the programs and technologies within the sector portfolio. This role will help foster the establishment and maintenance of a world class Software and Digital Technologies organization in Beavercreek, OH.

The selected candidate will provide functional leadership to the team in a strong engineering organization, collaborating with peers across multiple organizations. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. Candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.

The selected candidate will also actively participate in software engineering activities on one or more programs at the Beavercreek site to include SAVANT, EWIRDB, Space, DIODE, VSCEC, or other Beavercreek programs. The candidate will have a track record as an effective member of software development teams with excellent software engineering skills.

Qualifications - InternalBasic Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience in engineering development projects or Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience in engineering development projects.

Software development experience in C/C++, Java, scripting and/or web-based technologies in Linux and/or Windows environment.

Strong experience in the design, implementation and delivery of sophisticated software systems throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

Demonstrated proficiency in computer use including typical office applications; working familiarity with standard modern engineering development tools and processes.

Experience with Configuration Management tools such as GIT/SVN.

Demonstrated collaboration across functional groups.

Experience with SAVANT, Electronic Warfare, Space, DIODE, VSCEC, or other programs at the Beavercreek site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science in Engineering or other related discipline

Experience leading software development teams using Agile processes and continuous integration / continuous deployment processes and tools

Business development and/or proposal experience

Previous experience in people and technical leadership roles

Experience leading a team in the Engineering department of a matrix-like organization

TS/SCI clearance
