LinQuest is seeking an Integration and Test Engineer to join our team in Lexington, MA. You will join an Advanced Satcom Systems and Operations team that is involved in a synergistic combination of research, proof-of-concept test beds, and system engineering/application efforts focused on the goals of enhancing the capacity, the robustness to interference, and the flexibility of future generations of communications satellites, as well as line-of-sight radio communications systems. Current research is concentrating on the design and performance of advanced waveforms, the construction of flexible, adaptive wideband frequency plans, robust acquisition and tracking techniques, dynamic resource-allocation protocols, and advanced networking strategies. Promising research results are verified in hardware/software proof-of-concept implementations that provide quantitative performance data as well as complexity information.


  • Troubleshooting system issues by applying a working knowledge of system architecture, including software, firmware, RF components, and system associated test sets to identify root cause for system failures.
  • Lead the hands-on diagnosis of issues which arise during the integration and testing process, and work closely with software, firmware and hardware teams to identify and remedy issues.
  • Testing and maintaining test assets used in the development of satellite communications systems.
  • Ability to identify key requirements, create test plans, and apply a strong programming and scripting skill set to implement system and unit-level tests.
  • Design, develop, and execute operational scripts and unit tests for use in wireless communications systems such as communication satellite payloads and associated ground terminals

Required Skills:

  • System level experience – previous work with hardware/software systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting system level problems
  • Strong background in and experience with Python, and familiarity with C/C++
  • Experience with Linux operating system
  • Understanding of digital signal processing, digital communications, hardware design, software engineering, and computer architecture
  • Skilled in both system test planning and test execution
  • Able to apply programming skills to efficiently implement test procedures and troubleshoot system operation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

Required Experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields is required
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in test and evaluation
  • Digital and Wireless Radio/Communications Technology
  • C/C++, Java, Python, Bash, SQL, Java Script / HTML / CSS, and Matlab
  • The ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position

Preferred Experience:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in test and evaluation
  • An active Secret clearance is preferred to be considered for this position
