About the Job

We are looking for motivated and experienced high-speed AMS SerDes IC Designers to join a cutting-edge team driving the development of next generation SerDes PHY for state-of-the-art Self-driving, Autonomous Vehicles, and networking products. In this role, you will be involved in definition, implementation and verification of various circuit architectures, and key high-performance analog mixed signal integrated circuits for next generation products. In addition, you will be developing and maintaining circuit block models to ensure driving product level and sub-system specifications. Working well in a team environment as well as ability to build strong and influential relationships with other leaders would be essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level analysis for on-chip circuit architectures and assessing trade-offs to ensure specification compliance constrained power and area 
  • Design, create and own production-ready circuit block schematics, run cadence systematic, statistical and yield simulations
  • Plan for layout and supervise IC layout engineers for best in class high-performance AMS layout techniques and deliver EMIR-aware block level, top level and floor plans
  • Derive behavioral models for AMS circuits, deliver top level verification needs
  • Participate in design reviews, and create necessary owned design related documents  
  • Develop and drive test plans, collaborate with validation team to complete the validation phase for the owned designs

 


    Minimum Requirements

    • MS. in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing or Communication Systems with 12+ years of industry experience 
    • Having strong time management skills, being result oriented and committed to on-time deliverables
    • In-depth understanding of high performance analog mixed signal circuit IC designs, CDR schemes, calibration, equalization and signal integrity fundamentals
    • Direct hands-on industrial experience in SerDes circuit architectures and block designs e.g. CDR, PLL, DFE, VGA and CTLE for 25Gbps+ NRZ and 56Gbps+ PAM4 (DFE and ADC/DAC-DSP based solutions) in 28nm, 22nm, 20nm, and 16nm FinFET and lower CMOS technologies
    • In-depth knowledge of advanced calibration schemes for high-performance AMS circuits
    • Hands-on experience in full-cycle of IC development and layout verifications e.g. AMS, Spectre RF, Cadence PVS, LVS, DRC, ERC, and design for EMIR specifications

    Preferred qualifications

    • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing or Communication Systems
    • Strong verbal, written and communication skills, while being motivated to take initiative to drive for results and closure  
    • Background and/or coursework in digital communication, signal processing and digitally assisted calibration circuits for high-performance analog mixed signal circuits
    • Prior experience in high-performance ADCs, DACs, extreme low-jitter PLLs, CDR, DLL schemes and clock distribution for 56Gbps/112Gbps+ SerDes systems
    • Hands-on modeling and verification for circuit blocks using Matlab, C++, Python, etc.
