Leadership role within the Metal finishing shop-, Planning, organizing, and occasional plating: operate and monitor equipment which finishes, plates and coats metal articles or parts, to give them electrical or corrosion resistance properties.

You will oversee the assembly and inspection of products to ensure the highest quality product is provided to our customers. You will be responsible for your work area to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the area. You will set up and monitor the production of products in your area and participate in the continuous improvement process at the site to address safety, production, and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competent Supervisor for the Plating Area ensuring completion and compliance to the Health and Safety requirements
  • Shut down of the plating line at the end of the production – may require overtime as dictated by production demands
  • Identify and recommend overtime requirements
  • Attend Materiel Tier boards – provide production lead times to materiel planners
  • General administration of the plating shop, which includes but is not limited to;
  • Planning and prioritizing the daily work with the shop
  • Organizing the material and running the tier Board reviews
  • Administer the daily incoming receipts into SAP
  • Monitoring work backlog and making plans to lower backlog
  • Level load work amongst operators and help cross-train for skills versatility
  • Helping ensure material flowing, especially when the material requires rework or disposition
  • Helping with Root Cause analysis for problem prevention and correction.

Other tasks below may be required during the period of staff absence or otherwise.

  • Preparing parts for plating operations by attaching to plating racks
  • Preparing and maintaining plating production records
  • Reviewing engineering drawings to identify the plating requirements.
  • operating and monitoring equipment which cleans metal articles in preparation for electroplating or conversion coating
  • operating and monitoring electroplating equipment
  • checking the proper thickness of plating using micrometers, calipers or other devices recording data and writing production logs
  • preparing and mixing metalizing solutions according to formulas or specifications.
  • Ability to work overtime as required and afternoon shifts 

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 3+ years of experience as a team leader in a technical and processing environment
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
