The AT Performance, Operability and Methods group within the Engine System and Component Analysis department is seeking an engineer who will be a key contributor to developing tools and methods for system performance and operability modeling. The position provides the individual with an opportunity to interface with system engineering analysts within the engines and APU product lines, component design teams, testing, and experts in the information technology groups. Diverse technical and planning skills are needed to create, maintain, and implement tools, methods, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tool development, maintenance and enhancement initiatives, with a focus on Performance and Operability Modeling and Analysis for gas turbine engines
  • Deploy process enhancements, identify opportunities for cost-effective tool consolidation and/or creation of new tools.
  • Coordinate with global teams to manage productivity tool development projects and ensure all projects meet cost, schedule and quality objectives
  • Work closely with our global teams to support gas turbine engine development programs
  • Work closely with our internal customers to support performance and operability modeling and analyses
  • Develop documentation & training materials.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in development of engineering tools and methods for gas turbine engine performance and operability analysis
  • 3 + years of relevant experience in software programming languages (such as C++, PERL, Python, VBA, Fortran, etc.), Linux and Window operating systems, and software engineering.
  • Due to export control requirements, candidate must be US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (green card) of the United States.


  • Demonstrated understanding of thermodynamic cycle modeling related to gas turbine engines
  • Experience with tools development and turbine engine cycle modeling
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
  • Ability to lead and manage software development initiatives across a diverse and global cross-functional team
  • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
  • Exhibit process ownership and awareness; continuously improve processes; reduce cycle times; improves productivity and sensitivity to costs
  • Effective communication skills
