As a Sr. Data Analyst, Logistics you will work with Internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure freight data is being collected and analyzed for the group purchasing organization.  The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for collecting logistics data and building complex data models with hypothetical scenarios to solve business problems.  Individual has knowledge of the logistics industry processes, suppliers, customers, and contract terms/conditions.  Individual will follow standard practices and policies in analyzing situations and data and solve a range of straightforward problems.

In this role you will be responsible for the below activities:

  • Work with freight providers to connect data feeds and ensure accurate information is delivered to Electronic Data Warehouse
  • Develop logistics dashboards by understanding business needs, interpret the integrated data and translate into usable visualizations to drive business decisions
  • Queries and aggregates shipment data sets and builds models to show stakeholders financial savings, cost out opportunities, and additional “what if” scenarios.
  • Analyze freight charges and overall freight spend
  • Serve as a liaison with freight management software vendor
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the freight management software
  • Provide training on 3rd party freight management software
  • Monitor and maintain key operational and freight expense performance measures
  • Identify new vendor conversion opportunities
  • Work to optimize freight mode with facilities
  • Work with appropriate leadership teams to understand, develop, and communicating freight expense data requests/reports
  • Interpret and present data for decision-making needs                                          
  • Recommend to leadership areas of improvement and assist in driving results
  • Participate in operational performance reviews on an as needed basis

Qualifications

What you need to be considered for the Sr. Data Analyst, Logistics role:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of data analytics experience required
  • Experience with analyzing transportation/logistics data highly preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of working with reporting tools
  • Extensive experience in developing what if analyses
  • Ability to analyze and interpret voluminous data
  • Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders the results and insights provided by the analysis and models
  • Experience in managing freight preferred
