This position will focus on media relations, executive communications, and internal communications for the Community Bank across a 6-state territory including Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.  The successful applicant will develop and execute a strategic communications program to promote and protect the Company’s brand and reputation.  This position will sit in Summit, NJ or Plymouth Meeting, PA and does not offer relocation assistance.  The Wells Fargo job code title is Communications Senior Consultant.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic counselor to regional market and enterprise leaders
  • Develop and implement communications plans focused on promoting the Community Bank to regional media
  • Secure both broadcast and print media opportunities to best position the business and its leadership
  • Write and edit press releases, key messages, media statements, social media submissions and talking points
  • Build relationships with key national and trade media
  • Provide counsel to market leaders on actual and potential reputation issues in the market
  • Identify executive advocacy, external speaking and/or social media opportunities
  • Track and measure results to ensure they are in line with intended outcomes and business objectives
  • Partner with other communicators to ensure alignment of communications strategies and messaging

Communications & Brand Management delivers strategic internal, external, and executive communications for Wells Fargo and is responsible for driving the company's brand strategy. The team provides world-class counsel to accelerate the business and deliver relevant content to build trust, drive stakeholder perception, and protect and enhance the company's reputation.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of communications experience in one or more of the following disciplines: public relations, media relations or corporate communications demonstrated through work or military experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing integrated communications plans that align with business objectives
  • Experience securing both broadcast and print media opportunities with national media outlets
  • Experience prepping senior leaders for media interviews or speaking engagements
  • Experience with issues management and crisis communications
  • Experience writing stories across various social, internal, and digital channels
  • Experience developing compelling content and leveraging multiple channels for creative storytelling
  • Experience building strong relationships with national business and trade news media

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
