As an AVP of Clinical Resource Management, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of measureable clinical resource management and supply cost savings opportunities for a large healthcare system. You will have the ability to engage the appropriate stakeholders to identify and implement supply-related operational efficiencies, supply cost reductions, standardization, and utilization initiatives utilizing clinical and financial data, evidence, and regulatory/quality information.

In this role you will be responsible for the below activities:

  • Exhibiting leadership qualities that elicit the trust of their subordinates, peers, and supervisors.
  • Attending to the needs and feelings of others to develop effective working relationships with direct reports and others; relates easily to people; inspires and works well with others.
  • Leading and developing the field clinical resource management team providing direction, coaching and appraising performance.
  • Communicating HealthTrust vision and values so that their employees understand how their work is connected to the organization
  • Leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement measureable supply cost savings.
  • Assimilating information from a variety of sources, able to analyze data, make decisions and executes a course of action which may include HealthTrust contracts and supply improvement ideas generated from the facilities.
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, and healthcare system staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes. 
  • Creating confidence with internal and external customers, committing to improving customer satisfaction and setting achievable customer expectations.
  • Utilizing customer feedback for improvement in products and services.
  • Participating in the selling the supply chain processes as needed.
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of educational opportunities for clinical resource teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Supporting division supply chain leadership and provides guidance on clinical resource management staff, priorities and processes.
  • Demonstrating financial acumen which includes:
    • Reviewing of a division’s monthly financial reports to determine negative and positive variance drivers in collaboration with division and corporate supply chain teams and drive process improvement
    • Collaborating with clinical resource analysis team to review monthly enterprise financial reports to determine negative and positive variances on key service line product categories and understanding drivers to determine action plans and mitigating strategies.
  • Demonstrating the ability to perform a basic return on investment model for new programs and additional staff.
  • Demonstrating the ability to analyze financial and clinical performance data to identify variation opportunities and make recommendations to the team and organization in alignment with the organization’s strategic and financial resiliency plans.
  • Achieving financial objectives of the business line through managing operational expenses.
  • Managing projects within scope, time and budget.
  • Collaborating with organizations to track and analyze financial data.
  • Assisting in the development of standardized documents, processes, and dashboards for use by the corporate, division and facility clinical teams to use for spend and utilization analysis
  • Working with division supply chain teams to execute on clinical supply expense improvement agenda incorporating cost, quality and outcomes.
  • Executing on clinical supply expense improvement agenda incorporating cost, quality and outcomes.
  • Driving clinical supply expense improvement through the development and deployment of standardized toolkits, processes, and assessments.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of project management methodologies which include but are not limited to:  common processes, practices and tools associated with project management.
  • Guiding multiple projects and team members simultaneously in a fast paced environment that yields measurable and sustainable results.
  • Defining a vision, identifying milestones of success, identifying current gaps, determining with who to work and partner, setting actionable goals, and consistently achieving those goals.
  • Creating and guiding service line work groups comprised of service line CRDs, service line partners, HCA contracting team and GPO clinical team members to assess products, develop recommendations and program guidance and determine physician engagement strategies.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration, Nursing, or Pharmacy is required.  (Will consider a graduate of a Professional School of Nursing with related experiences in Value Analysis.)
  • MSN, MBA, MHA, MS Pharmacy, or PharmD preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a health care required along with prior supply chain, value analysis, clinical supply expense management, or sourcing experience.
  • Project management experience with coordination and measurement of project deliverables required.  
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required; clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
  • Software skills with data warehouse and/or Micro Strategies highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
