Operations Supervisor (Experienced Level Professional)

MISSION

Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager, this position is responsible to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a safe and efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordination and Supervision (80%)
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures production of quality products by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Displays demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
  • Displays an ability to think ahead, plan and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Monitors and ensures the success of employee training and development.
  • Measures performance to company goals and standards.
  • Balances and achieves positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations.

Process Improvement (15%)
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and implementation of change management.

Scheduling (10%)
  • Establishes priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

Education Required

Bachelor Degree in Business Management or related field preferred. Experience may substitute for education.

Experience Required

3+ years of experience in production.
