We are seeking a Sr Operations Specialist to support the SMC/SY STS-2 Engineering and Technical Services contract on Schriever AFB, CO. The successful candidate will provide system engineering (configuration management; data management, test and evaluation, risk and software build management), satellite operations (Mission Planning, On-Orbit Operations, Anomaly Resolution, Mission Analysis, and Disposal Operations) and sustainment advisory services to the Space Superiority Systems Directorate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site mission support at the SBSS Satellite Operations Center (SOC) and maintain existing continuity and relationships with space control community stakeholders
  • Monitor sustainment provider performance and coordinate directly with SBSS program manager (located in El Segundo, CA) to prioritize operational and acquisition needs
  • Attend daily operations standup meeting to monitor mission performance
  • Lead Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTPs) development for data customers
  • Provide engineering sustainment support Logistics
  • Support meetings and Program Management Reviews
  • Review space vehicle trending reports monthly and track issues by maintaining a watch items list
  • Assist in anomaly resolution (AR) by leading AR meetings; developing fishbone and failure mode analyses; determining root cause; and evaluating work-arounds
  • Manage system configuration by participating in weekly Deficiency Review (DR) Boards, Integration TIMs, and Software Build meetings; processing Form 1067 modifications; assessing/ prioritizing system deficiencies; and managing the ground software development, integration, and test
  • Attend weekly Engineering Review Boards to review operational analyses, TTPs, and system upgrades
Required Skills:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in satellite operations, weapon system sustainment for classified programs
  • Experience with SAP and Space Control mission areas and programs
  • Minimum of 10 years total work experience
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
Preferred Skills:

  • Masters Degree is highly desired
  • MMSOC, OS/COMET, STK
  • DoD Acquisition experience
Compensation:

  • Starting salary $100,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
