Job Summary:

This Sr. Application Engineer position will play a key role in the Digital Technologies team as we continue to grow our technology stack, expanding our footprint, and delivering enterprise applications that enhance and improve the patient experience.

Expectation is that the Senior Application Engineer can work independently and collaboratively with project teams in the analysis design and development of solutions. This position will work closely with Product Analyst, Business Owners, Project Management, Architecture, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support Services to develop timelines, manage project risks, assist in the development of quality assurance test plans as well as end user documentation, and support deployment activities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in development of solutions using HCA standards and procedures, maintaining code and version control through Microsoft Team Foundation Server, LeanKit, GitHub, and/or other such tools
  • Actively participate with engineers on the team in software architecture, design decisions, and mentoring
  • Provide expertise in technologies like: ASP.NET MVC, C#, WCF, Entity Framework, Java Script, SQL Server 12/14/16, Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
  • Provide expertise in:
  • SQL Server, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Queries, Indexes, Transactions, and Cursors
  • MVC, C#.Net, .Net Core, WCF, Entity Framework, ADO.Net, Web Services, Web API, SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Develop using .Net Background applications using C#.Net, .Net Core and SQL server
  • Participate in development lifecycle to design, develop, test, implement and support solutions Completing Unit Testing and participating in Peer/Code Reviews of other developers work
  • Participate in necessary training activities to become subject matter expert in solution
  • Resolve production support issues without assistance and assist/train others as needed
  • Establish and meet delivery dates
  • Build strong relationships among team, Business Owners and vendors
  • Adhere to HCA Security and Architecture standards

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Required
  • 5+ years of experience – Required
