Job Description:

The Manager of Infection Prevention ensures high quality, patient-centered care by coordinating the hospital-wide Infection Control Program, which includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of nosocomial infections, education of staff, and the development of hospital policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet regulatory requirements. In collaboration with the Infection Prevention (IP) Committee, the Manager of Infection Prevention makes decisions relative to the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections and blood-borne pathogens. The Manager of Infection Prevention develops and maintains policies and procedures that support successful quality/patient safety outcomes and ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare to patients, identification of areas of opportunity, and coordination and execution of regulatory compliance programs in accordance with federal, state and local agencies.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  1. Education:  Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. RN License with Associate Degree required.  BSN or MPH preferred.
  2. Experience:  Minimum of five years experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse and minimum of two years experience as an Infection Prevention and Control Manager/Coordinator, and Board Certification in Infection Control (CIC).   Must be familiar with Joint Commission regulation relating to infection prevention control, OSHA and other applicable health care codes.  Must be knowledgeable of inspection and surveillance procedures.
