Job Description

The Project Engineer will be part of the Alion Team which is supporting AFRL/RCB through the DoD Business Capability Acquisition Cycle (BCAC) process.  The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RCB) maintains the Enterprise Business Systems for all of AFRL Technical Directorates and is modernizing the full suite of applications. This modernization effort requires the execution of the Business Capability Acquisition Cycle (BCAC) process.

Requirements
The Project Engineer will lead and provide expertise related to BCAC Phase 1 through 4 including Need Identification, Business Solution Analysis, Business System Functional Requirements & Acquisition Planning, and Business System Acquisition Testing & Deployment.  Specific requirements include:

  • Demonstrated communication skills (written & oral) to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders (technical & business);
  • Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques;
  • Ability to plan and organize in a complex, fast-paced environments;
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player, positive attitude and enthusiastic;
  • Solicit, understand, and document the client’s business requirements, processes and workflows;
  • Provide capabilities assessment, requirements validation, and technical support;
  • Experience developing BCAC based Implementation Plans;
  • Evaluates, develops, and delivers Business Use Cases (as-is) and Business Use Cases (to-be);
  • Gather requirements and help build and document specifications for development;
  • Conduct gap analysis between current solution and customer requirements;
  • Work with the client to demonstrate the changes for system needs;
  • Experience working with AFRL is desired;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant discipline.
  • Fluent in all MS Office applications.
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP is preferred.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience supporting teams within a complex, fast-paced,
  • milestone-driven environment.
  • Experience with MS Visio preferred.
  • Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) preferred.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with Agile tools preferred.
  • Must a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
