Job Summary

Candidates will be responsible for supporting Metrology Calibration Technicians in non-technical aspects of Metrology, to include receipt and delivery of gages, shipping to and receiving gages from calibration vendors and manufacturing suppliers, processing completed calibration records, and general office administration. This position may require the flexibility to work any shift.   

 

SHIFT 3

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 

    

     

      

§Â  Deliver calibrated gages to production end-users and Metrology storage locations.

§Â  Process gages delivered to Metrology for calibration into Gage Tracking system.

§Â  Pull replacement gages from Metrology storage

§Â  Ships gages to and receive gages from calibration vendors and manufacturing suppliers to include, requesting quotes, processing purchase orders, processing shipping documents, and processing returned gages into gage tracking system.

§Â  Act as customer service contact for calibration vendors and manufacturing suppliers.

§Â  Act as customer service support for departments, to include answering lab door, answering basic questions, or requests for gages.

§Â  Prepare hard copy documents for off-site storage.

§Â  Assist in training of new department employees in the non-technical aspects of Metrology and related documentation.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision. Responsible for making decisions related to own work and that of others within broad guidelines established by department supervisor or manager.
  • Ability to build relationships with other areas of the organization. Daily contact and/or communication with quality technicians, tool and die makers, gage design engineers, quality engineers, production supervisors or managers, manufacturing engineers, and buyers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Basic understanding and use of Outlook, Word, Excel
  • High School Diploma
  • One year experience in a production environment.  Experience with calibration or metrology functions preferred.

Travel Requirements

Up to 5%
