North Florida Regional Medical Center’s Med/Surg Renal/GYN is a 45 bed unit composed of 10 semi private and 25 private rooms, which provides inpatient care for medical/surgical patients with a focus on Renal, Gynecology, Bariatrics, Urology, and Stable Cardiac.

Position Description: The Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality. patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the Lead PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department, and performs or assists with more advanced procedures based on one or more achieved specialty certifications. The Lead PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for licensed personnel. In addition, the Lead PCT assists with ongoing training and/or precepting of new and current employees as directed by the supervisor. The Lead PCT is responsible for ensuring new processes, equipment and other changes are communicated and/or taught to other PCT's.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • CNA Training Program is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in an HCA facility is required

Licensure, Certification, Training:

  • State of Florida CNA or Fundamentals or Nursing Course at accredited school is preferred
  • Basic Life Support through American Heart Association is required upon hire
  • HCA Preceptor Training is required within 90 days
