Key Responsibilities

  • This role is specialized in automation. The ideal candidate will round out the team's capabilities in helping Infrastructure team adopt existing automation as well as creating new automation as needed for IT services. Ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of core IT experience with 3-5 years in automation space.

    Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Create technical content, blueprints, architecture patterns/models, and proof of concepts
  • Execute manual and automated tests, analyze issues, work with operations teams to debug and resolve issues early in the release cycle
  • Work with Operations team to find opportunities on reducing the incidents tickets
  • Key focus will be on Continuous Improvements(CIPs)
  • Develop and/or apply tooling to accelerate hybrid cloud adoption in collaboration
  • Analyze the latest product and platform developments and how they can help infrastructure team
  • Influence platform team roadmaps based on future product capabilities across the board(Storage/Windows/Linux/Backup)
  • Collaborate with other passionate individuals on automation strategy and best practices
  • Participate in the development of brand-new technologies in the Hybrid Cloud and On-prem
  • Planning, designing, and implementation of new IT initiatives
  • Documenting systems infrastructure

  • Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years developing (not just using) Ansible, or Chef, or Foreman, or Puppet Automation tools
  • 8+ years of systems administration experience in infrastructure automation(Windows/Linux/Storage/Backup)
  • Experience writing Ansible Playbooks or Chef cookbooks, testing, and dependency resolution 
  • 3+ years working Knowledge on (Docker, OpenShift Enterprise, ECS) and orchestration (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Python / Bash / PowerShell
  • Other useful skills include exposure to Cloud (Azure or AWS), Containers (Kubernetes, Docker), Linux, Windows Server, Version control and test case management tools
  • Leverage Azure Terraform or Jenkins to develop infrastructure as code for repeatable environment provisioning via automated blueprints and solutions effective
  • Exposure to other automation tool is a plus to integrate GitHub, Jenkins, Az Terraform etc.
  • Preferred :
    • Constructing CI/CD deployment pipelines to Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise Kubernetes orchestration platform
    • Exposure to Zerto, CVO Cloud backup, CommVault
    • Create parameterized build jobs via Jenkins for Continuous Integration of Security and environmental variables
