Position is responsible for the requirements, testing, planning and implementation of new software, hardware and applications relative to new product delivery, systems architecture, process enhancements, infrastructure and security.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Provide tech solutions and project mgmt for provisioning, assurance, number admin, inventory, address qualification, and local number portability apps, processes and practices. Participates in software development project activities including tech/business requirements and design, tech writing and Methods/Proc. May assist in the coordination, evaluation and partnership with tech vendors, outside consultants and internal dotted line resources. Part of a 24X7 staff delivering network tech support. Provides the tech troubleshooting and leadership required to recover from the most complex network problems. Identification of root cause, resolution, work arounds, testing and implementation of vendor/IT fixes or design changes. As a Subject Matter Expert works closely with business partners to identify/quantify business issues associated with specific projects, develop/implement business strategy, and assist in setting strategic tech direction in support of customer facing organizations. Review and approve proposed tech system designs. May assist in providing leadership for projects, including collaborating with the client to develop business cases, defining business and/or tech requirements and preparing detailed plans and schedules.

May lead cross- functional teams on specific issues and/or projects. May review and interpret technical documentation and vendor specs for inclusion/adaptation into database templates. May perform work at customer location. Job Contribution: Intermediate level technical professional. Subject matter technical knowledge within a discipline and sound understanding of ATT technologies.

Education: Typically a BS in technical disciplines, such as Engineering, Computer Sciences, and Operations

Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years relevant work experience

Supervisory: No.

Additional desired qualifications:  

  1. Basic Layer 2/3 IP Network understanding.
  2. Basic Linux/UNIX skills
  3. Ability to support devices including but not limited to satellite modems, routers, switches, access points, laptops, PCs, servers with various Operating systems (Windows, Linux etc.) and tools like Spectrum analyzers.
  4. Moderate understanding and experience with Satellite Communications architecture and signal flow.
  5. Familiarity with configuring VSAT and Cisco based devices.
  6. VSAT network management experience (iDirect, Newtec, Comtech) is a plus.
  7. Experience with creating service diagrams and documentation using Microsoft Visio and other MS Office tools.
  8. Able to analyze problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery.
  9. Knowledge of OSI Layer 3
  10. Project Management skills, Software testing skills, Technical writing skills
  11. Knowledge of order management and customer install
  12. Basic Layer 2/3 IP Network understanding
