The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

The Home Lending Product Strategy and Delivery team is actively hiring a Project Manager 3 who will be accountable to oversee work efforts across agile and/or waterfall teams being driven by the Servicing Asset Management Product Focus Area.  This Project Manager will be responsible for leading project teams and managing all activities (including strategy and ideation), in a project life-cycle (initiation planning, executing/controlling, and closing) associated with high visibility projects that are long-term, across one or more lines of business and carry a substantial impact to the relevant businesses.  Other responsibilities include :

  • Accountable for direct and independent management of primarily high risk/strategic projects (occasionally moderate risk)
  • Consult with business partners to clarify and define project requirements and business case, including development of a statement of work
  • Develop and revise complex project plans and budgets (up to $5 million), works with users to understand complex problems and focuses on bringing issues to resolution, escalating as necessary to meet timelines, while demonstrating strong organizational skills and ability to adjust for shifting priorities
  • Interacts with senior leadership and major stakeholders to establish strategic plans and objectives for programs and projects
  • May participate as a member of larger effort(s) to independently manage sub-program component(s) of high complexity under the purview of a program/project leader.
  • Incorporate multi-business and enterprise support operations organizational/ systems knowledge and navigation to anticipate change impacts.
  • May be assigned as a program leader
  • Seek the counsel of peers, stakeholders, and/or program/project leads in times of strategically complex or critical ambiguity and adapt planning, communications, and engagements accordingly.
  • Informs and influences sponsors and key stakeholders to promote success of project prioritization, senior and executive leadership through times of ambiguity, and obstacle management.
  • Coach and mentor project team members, including matrix management
  • Consult, regularly and appropriately, with executive leadership, sponsors, business and other stakeholders to validate project trajectory and project performance feedback.
  • Ensure full understanding of project impacts then translate that into comprehensive engagement strategies.
  • Ensure that risk Controls are met

Salary range is determined by the location of the job.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, project delivery, project methodologies, digital product/program management, strategic planning or implementation

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Knowledge and understanding of mortgage banking or financial services industry
  • Ability to manage projects or programs following a Standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) approach, with scheduled release code deployments
  • Knowledge and understanding of Clarity
  • JIRA experience
  • Ability to coordinate processes or projects and compile documentation
  • Ability to consolidate large amounts of project status information to identify key risks, customer impact, financial implications, delays, and issues that pose material risk
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies: used in waterfall or Agile development projects

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple senior business partners; to create and maintain complex project deliverables
  • Demonstrate expertise to manage project allocated resources, without direct authority
  • Experience developing and implementing program and project level performance metrics
  • Expert knowledge & utilization of project management life cycle methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Excellent facilitation, leadership, relationship management and organizational skills
  • Experience in leading large working sessions either in-person and/or virtually
  • Excellent negotiating skills and ability to lead and champion change management efforts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Understanding of Servicing Asset Management (Bankruptcy / Foreclosure / Property Preservation) applications
