The Advisor Platform team in Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) Technology is responsible for developing and managing an end to end Advisor suite of applications related to Client Relationship Management, Portfolio Management, and broader integrations with key activities an Advisor performs on a day to day basis. The team's primary objective is to deliver a single, integrated platform for our Wealth and Investment Management Advisors, integrating all sales and service applications into one single platform and decommissioning legacy platforms.

The WIM Advisor Platform Technology Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for leading technology alignment across our Advisor Experience and Platform. This leader will align to, and co-lead, our agile transformation. This leader will leverage a broad understanding of Technology and agile transformation to define, develop, and execute against our WIM Advisor Platform strategy. 

This includes empowering our teams to develop the next generation Advisor Platform the management of functions related to our next generation Advisor Platform.  This leader is responsible for managing execution and leading agile teams that manage and develop the systems supporting the Client Relationship Group organization.  This senior leader will define and execute on the overall Advisor Platform Technology and WIM strategy. This leader must establish key relationships and influence at all levels across all key functions in Technology, WIM, Risk, Compliance and key vendors.
This leader also works closely with strategy and architecture functions to develop applications and other technology to align with WIMT’s, and the broader Wells Fargo Technology architectural vision.

Overall responsibilities include:  

  • Deliver a single, integrated platform for our Wealth and Investment Management Advisors, integrating all sales and service applications into one single platform and decommissioning legacy platforms.
  • Develop new service and sales capabilities, integrating new tools and capabilities that modernize the way we do business. 
  • Make our tools easier to use, enabling our platforms for scale. This includes enhancing our advisor experiences, facilitating an improvement in Advisor adoption, and delivering moments that matter. 
  • Lead agile transformation and execution across key deliverables in the Advisor Platform space. Responsible for leading multiple agile teams (direct and matrix) and the supporting environment, so that they steadily mature in terms of technical capabilities, agile practices, and organizational agility.
  • Manage demand and capacity across the Advisor Platform organization to establish predictable delivery and high levels of execution confidence.
  • Educate and guide teams leveraging the Wells Fargo scaling framework and guide teams on the usage of all agile tools.
  • Facilitates communication/collaboration within and between teams to help align objectives to deliver products and services.
  • Ensure technology services provided to business functions of WIM are performing and meeting critical needs.
  • Ensure system portfolio conforms to the requirements of Technology, Risk and Information Security.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating commitment to diversity & inclusion and Wells Fargo’s culture and core values.

Leading the Business

  • Lead change management or cultural transformation programs, with comfort leading through ambiguity.

  • Create and communicate vision and strategy. 
  • Manage vendor relationships and aligning vendor and Wells Fargo roadmaps. 
  • Consult with key business partners and translate complex, technical concepts so that they are clearly understood in support of sound decisions to meet business objectives.

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 6+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
  • 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 4+ years of experience leading a global organization through a transformation from a project-based organization to a Customer Journey and Product based organization based on Agile methodologies

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Ability to manage large or multiple technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to effectively partner and influence at the executive level

Other Desired Qualifications
  • A broad understanding of IT from all perspectives including Technology Strategy, Technology Architecture, Infrastructure Management, Application Management, and the IT business delivery model.
  • Broad understanding of, and demonstrated ability to manage a large, complex technology portfolio (architecture, infrastructure, application development) across critical lines of business and effectively partner/influence at the senior executive level.
  • Broad experience across multiple areas of technology with a strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage a complex and diverse application portfolio.
  • 3+ years managing cloud-native development with microservices, PCF, CI/CD, Kafka, and Docker
  • Knowledge of Big Data platform and data pipeline development
  • Experience working in DevOps model
  • Ability to lead teams through engineering transformation
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical and regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic technology environment.
  • Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and deliver with confidence and predictability in achieving timelines 
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership.
