Title: Sr. Factory Automation Engineer

Primary Location: México (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey

Function: Manufacturing Engineering

Major Purpose:

Develops and leads the Factory Automation Process implementation in Dubuque Works manufacturing operations. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the most effective elements of modern manufacturing philosophies are implemented. Is a resource in FA as a coach, mentor, and trainer for all employees at Dubuque Works working partially remotely and on-site.

Main Responsibilities:

+ Plan, coordinate, and perform intermediate to expert tasks related to control systems

+ Coordinate and review work assigned to Support personnel and contractors.

+ Participate in the development and implementation of FA solutions of medium to large complexity.

+ Develop RFQ´s, for new and modified equipment and ensure FA standards are followed.

+ Work with Mfg Engineers/Quality Engineers to create specifications for shop floor issues and architect solutions.

+ Partner with Manufacturing or Operations for introduction of new technology to shop floor.

+ Provide technical advice for the selection, integration, and support of automated manufacturing equipment.

+ Provide Tier 2 Shop Floor Support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.

+ Availability to travel 50% of the time.

What Skills You Need:

+ Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools.

+ Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

+ Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities.

+ Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process.

+ Strong Experience of MES systems like JDAAT, industrial automation networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Devicenet, etc.) and systems deployment.

+ Strong experience in diagnostics of electrical systems and components, hardware integration, installation, and commissioning.

+ Strong Communication Skills.

What Makes You Stand Out:

+ Experience working with external suppliers to procure new technologies that meet product/systems specifications.

+ Technical experience relating to the design and diagnostics of electrical systems and components.

+ Experience in one or more related engineering areas: electrical, controls, computer, etc. – 4-6 years.

+ Experience in electrical design and in the use of electrical drafting software – 4+ years.

+ Experience in project management – small to mid-scale complex projects.

Education (or equivalent experience):

+ B.S. Mechatronics Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
