**Description:** This position is a key technical role on the Data organization’s solution delivery team\. As a lead data engineer, you will be designing and delivering highly scalable, high performance data integration and transformation platforms\. You will interact with the customer to capture the business need, and lead the design and delivery of full\-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline leveraging new cloud architectures and extend or migrate to existing architectures\. You will design and implement data solutions by defining functional capabilities, security, back\-up, and recovery specifications\. Part of the responsibility is to understand advanced methods and theories in the area of data engineering and conduct proof of value to demonstrate its feasibility and business value\. You will also collaborate with Architect\(s\) and recommend adjustments to the architecture to improve the overall solution quality and integration\. You will work with multiple technology stack such as Hadoop, AWS/Azure Cloud, Graph DB, HANA, OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitLab, etc\. within the SAFe Agile development framework\.

Responsibilities include:

Design, lead, code, implement, and support next\-generation data analytics applications using data engineering best practices on on\-premise/Cloud/Hybrid Cloud\.

Develop both front\-end and server side solutions to provide curated data models and visualizations for the enterprise to leverage

Designs data integrations and data quality framework\.

Build and maintain scalable automated data pipelines and data integrations to support the growing needs of on\-demand data

Develop and execute automated data pipeline testing processes and validate business rules and policies

Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools

Work with networking, database, cloud engineering, security engineering teams to comply with the data security policies and procedures and trouble\-shoot and resolve any issues in data engineering deliveries

Maintain data systems performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems

Monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures

Mentor team members

Participate in SAFe development process that focuses on customer value delivery and individual full stack developer ownership

**Basic Qualifications:**

\*Experience with virtualization and containerization, including managing and deploying containers using Kubernetes/Docker\.

\*API based integration experience for large production systems\.

\*Hands\-on experience with Hadoop, NoSQL,

Cloud Technologies\.

\*Strong programming experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Python, Kafka, Nifi\.

\*Understanding of data management foundations and data storage principles\.

\*Hands\-on experience in writing complex, highly\-optimized SQL queries across large data sets\.

\*Knowledge of Linux/Unix\.

\*Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment\. Demonstrated ability to work with business users directly\.

**Desired Skills:**

\*Hands\-on expertise on SAP HANA/BODS/BOE are desirable

\*Java development experience

\*Experience with one of the visualization tools \- \*Business Objects, Tableau or similar tool
