Design review of industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype model production and machine attachments required for production or experimental use, considering such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, performance requirements, and inspection requirements\. Position is responsible for review and acceptance of detailed tool design drawings, complete with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing \(GD&T\), utilizing PTC Creo and CATIA V5 \(and other tools\)\. Position is also responsible for assignment of initial inspection frequency and conducting initial and periodic verification of fabricated special tools, holding fixtures, assembly fixtures and inspection gauges necessary for the manufacture of components to the requirements of the engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models\. Review and approval of material handling tools to include proof load requirements\. Dispositions tool discrepancy reports \(TRRR\), provides production floor support as necessary to investigate, resolve, and improve tooling, technical and/or manufacturing related issues\.

**Basic Qualifications:**

• Bachelor's degree in technical \(STEM\) discipline\.

• Experience inspecting fixtures, inspection gauges and other special tools\.

• Experience reading drawings and specifications\.

• Experience with the application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing \(GD&T\)\.

• Experience utilizing Computer Aided Design \(CAD\)\.

• Experience and knowledge in Mechanical Engineering/Technology

• Ability to obtain a secret clearance, must have at least an interim secret clearance prior to start\.

**Desired Skills:**

• Five \(5\) or more years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR three \(3\) or more years with a Master's degree\.

• Experience with PTC Creo & CATIA V5 CAD

• Windchill PLM experience

• General knowledge of machining, assembly, inspection, and test processes\.

• Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments \(DOE\) and Statistical Process Control \(SPC\)

• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

• Experience working on projects with teams as a leader and participant

• Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications
