Job Summary This position will serve as a Manager for the IMSS Data Center Operations group. Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to, day-to-day management of a team of operations support technicians, overseeing daily processing jobs executed in a multi-shift environment, and managing two on-prem data centers. Job Duties Manage an existing team of four operations technicians that are primarily responsible for the execution of scheduled processes utilizing the Broadcom/CA Application Manager (aka AppWorx) scheduler. Supervise and assist in the preparation of jobs for scheduling into a distributed production environment using the AppWorx scheduling system. Coordinate resolution efforts amongst DBAs, system administrators, and programming technical leads when necessary. Perform AppWorx system upgrades. Manage two on-prem data centers. Assure infrastructure availability, oversee space planning, analyze ongoing power and cooling needs, establish and enforce data center standards. Monitor data center environmental conditions and execute appropriate escalation procedures in the event of any anomalies. Schedule and coordinate data center maintenance activities including routine maintenance for air handlers, UPS systems, and testing backup generators. Perform vendor selection and contract management. This involves evaluating vendor's offerings, selection of vendor products and services, negotiating best possible prices for products or services, initiating purchase requisitions, and managing support renewals. Perform general managerial tasks including project prioritization, day-to-day task assignment, on-call rotation scheduling, progress/status reporting, performance reviews, job descriptions, job interviews, timecard approvals, vacation approvals, etc. Responsible for long-term project planning, budget planning, customer service level agreements (SLAs), service definitions, and system lifecycle management. Create and maintain system documentation and operational procedures. After-hours on-call responsibilities are a requirement of this position. Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in various IT related roles. Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role. Must be highly professional, focused on quality, customer service oriented, and have excellent follow-through skills. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and accurate operational procedures and status reports. Willingness and ability to handle a wide range and number of tasks. Demonstrable ability to work effectively on independent, self-directed projects. Moderate experience with SQL queries and Unix shell commands. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience managing data centers or extensive exposure to data center related tasks such as assuring high availability, space planning, and analyzing power and cooling needs. Experience with the following technologies: high-performance computing, cloud services, virtualization, networking, and firewalls. Experience in computer operations/scheduling. Familiarity with AppWorx/UC4 scheduler. Familiarity with Oracle DBMS and Oracle EBS.
