The Opportunity

Lonestar King, ON is looking for a Hydro Vac Operator to join their safety conscious team! The successful candidate will be responsible for operating units in performing Daylighting excavation activities associated with pipeline, construction, utility and oil terminal work. This position does require about 50% travel throughout Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Attends daily safety meetings and ensures all tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Drives and operates Hydro Vac Units;
  • Completing tasks associated with Daylighting excavation, trenching and shoring;
  • Rigging equipment in and out;
  • Performs pre and post trip inspections;
  • Maintains and updates driver’s log book;
  • Communicates with dispatchers and supervisors throughout the day;
  • Performs roadside repairs;
  • Completing all required paperwork on a daily basis;
  • Works as part of a team with Customers, Coworkers & Supervisors.

What does it take to work for Lonestar?

  • Ability to travel 50% annually required;
  • 2 years of Hydro Vac experience is required;
  • DZ license is required;
  • Previous experience in a labour intensive position and working in all types of weather conditions;
  • Safety certifications required (I.e. First Aid with CPR, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Ground Disturbance Level 2, PCST, CSTS);
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment.
