Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell Engines and Power Systems Engineering. Outstanding opportunity for an Engineer with Gas Turbine experience interested in joining the AT Performance, Operability and Methods team. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. This position requires the individual to be able to support dynamic engine modeling, test support and process improvements for system operability analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dynamic modeling of turbine engine transient events including system operability (starting/acceleration/deceleration) and fuel control schedules to meet design requirements.
  • Utilizing data reduction and diagnostic software tools to support gas turbine development and qualification tests.
  • Prepare detailed test plans, including instrumentation, data acquisition and test schedules.
  • Provide test coverage, analyze test data and report test results.
  • Interface directly with Project engineers and system component owners to ensure a systems approach to engine development.
  • Support cross-functional system teams within Engineering, other Honeywell business units and customers.
  • Clearly articulate key performance and operability results within Honeywell and with external customers.
  • Position may require flight test coverage on Honeywell’s 757 flying test bed


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, from an accredited university
  • 3 years of experience with Engine Operability or combination with Engine Performance or Engine Dynamic Modeling and Analysis
  • Due to export control regulations, this position requires US citizen or permanent resident status


  • Demonstrated expertise with APU and/or engine performance and operability modeling and data reduction
  • Proficiency with FAST, NPSS, MATLAB or Simulink
  • Demonstrated expertise in engine transient and starting modeling
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance and develop tools and processes for modeling and data reduction
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
  • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers
  • Ability to think strategically from an organizational perspective, display ‘outside the box’ thinking, and willingness to take prudent risks
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and with a diverse cross-functional team
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
  • Effective communication skills
