As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Enterprise Testing Officer responsible for executing testing programs for Consumer & Small Business Banking (CSBB) - Banking & UDAAP Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V). This position will primarily perform testing assignments of processes owned by Consumer and Small Business Banking Deposit Product Group (DPG) as well as other select business units as needed. This position will also work directly with the Director to be a liaison with the Business Manager for various initiatives across IT&V and the other CSBB peer teams. The successful candidate will interact regularly with Compliance and Operational Risk teams, line of business partners as well as others in the Second Line of Defense, Legal, and Wells Fargo Internal Audit. The testing execution and liaison activities will ensure consistency with Independent Testing & Validation’s commitment to our customers, the Wells Fargo Vision & Values and risk appetite. The successful candidate is familiar with managing and executing a testing schedule on time and accurately. 

The successful candidate may be involved in development and design of methodologies and standards for testing the Deposits & CSBB groups that support Consumer and Small Business Banking lines of business in alignment with the Risk Management Framework and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, according to standards and other applicable policies. Leads and executes moderate to high risk or complex engagements and communicates emerging risks to management. Escalates any potential new issues discovered during the completion of the testing activities. Performs effective and timely testing and provides related independent credible challenge internally. Completes all documentation and appropriately retains all work papers (testing schedule, templates, work-papers, deferrals, deviations, etc.). Partners with the Business Manager for the CSBB testing team to deliver clear messages of changes to policies, procedures, templates and tools. Leads implementation of initiatives with moderate to high risk. Internal collaboration with business for oversight of risk management. May interface with Audit and Legal on risk related topics. May lead project/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other team members.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management





Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with the Deposits Product Group (DPG)
  • Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk and Testing
  • Critical Thinking and Analytical skills
  • Prior experience obtaining population datasets and creating randomized samples
  • 3+ years of compliance and controls testing experience
  • At least 6 years in Audit, Risk and/or Compliance testing operational and compliance controls
  • Critical Thinking and Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service men and women.
  • Exposure to using a compliance system of record
  • Experience providing credible challenge to business partners when necessary
  • Proven ability to implement and influence change and controls across a line of business as work is accomplished through managers/consultants/specialist, cross-functional/virtual team, and matrixed teams
  • Audit or compliance related certification such as the CRCM, CPA, CIA, etc.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (CFCS)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
