We are looking for an Associate Software Developer to join our Source Management and Deploy Automation teams within our Engineering Enablement division. Your job will be to help developers be developers, by providing services and tools that allow our internal engineers to build and ship high quality software. You are a software engineer just starting out in your career. You have a passion for software, nimble learning, agile development processes, and creating high quality software. You want to learn and grow, with accountability and impact to a large organization and healthcare in the United States.

The Team: Our Developer Software Services zone strives to make product development simple and efficient, while making production reliable and visible.

This posting is for one of two teams within Developer Software Services. Those teams are:
  • Deployment Automation oversees deploying our core, production code to thousands of servers in multiple data centers on a regular basis. This position gives a tremendous opportunity to see infrastructure at scale. Our fully automated deployment solution is industry standard, and constantly improving. Previous experience in automating deployments is not required.
  • Source Management oversees all internal Source Control systems, including Bitbucket and Perforce. Beyond simple operations and support, Source Management designs and oversees our branching strategy, promotional models, and bridges other critical release activities that involve highly complex scripting and design. Previous experience in SCM administration is not required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable
  • Work collaboratively on a cross-functional team with a wide range of experience levels
  • Collaborate with business owners to understand and refine business requirements

Typical Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Bachelor's Degree, Bootcamp, or equivalent work experience (including internships).
  • Knowledge of at least one modern programming languages such as: C#, C++, Perl, Java, Python, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux, Big Data, SQL, NOSQL, and various other technologies
  • Exposure to object oriented programing, relational database technologies, distributed computing tech, and RESTful API
