What You'll Do:
  • Develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Develop and maintain code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Perform software project management and software supplier management functions.
  • Develop, select, tailor and deploy software processes, tools and metrics.
  • Execute and document software research and development projects.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
  • Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Work under general direction.
  • Design, manufacture, development, and maintenance of a wide variety of commercial and military training devices.
  • Support the ASC2 AWACS Training System platform
  • Participate as a member of a high performing, collaborative team and be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills
  • Integrate commercial and Boeing developed software into Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux operating systems
  • Use Agile methodologies to support all aspects of product development and project management
  • Script to support application of security settings on Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux platforms
  • Design systems to meet current and future software and application requirements
  • Implement and test software/systems using a variety of technologies to include scripting to support automated testing
  • Networking and support of Ethernet and Fiber Channel networks
  • Support VMWare and Linux virtualization applications
  • Attend design and review board meetings to help facilitate system maturity and lifecycle support
  • Storage Area Network and Network Attached Storage administration
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required.
What You'll Need:
  • Secret Clearance
  • Have the ability to work with multiple support teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Experience having System Administration experience of Linux/Unix or Windows platforms
  • 3+ years of experience in software systems integration
  • 3+ years of experience in scripting activities in a Linux or Windows environment
  • Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
    • 1+ years of experience computing administration to include managing Microsoft active directory design, deploy and operational support
    • 1+ years of experience using PowerShell
    • 1+ years of experience with networking communications standards, IP Networking, and protocols (e.g. Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol
    • (TCP/IP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Secure Transport Protocol (SCP), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML)
    • 1+ years of experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
    • 1+ years of experience working with Virtualized Systems (i.e. VMWare) design and implementation
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry combined with 5 + years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
