The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.

The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

The BPM Governance Strategy Team in Enterprise BPM Governance & Change Management is looking for a strategically-minded individual to contribute to maintaining the integrity of the Business Process Management (BPM) Framework within Wells Fargo by helping to lead the development and maintenance of governance strategic goals, and the transformation of those goals into BPM governance capabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the ongoing conversion of enterprise BPM objectives into BPM governance strategy, and contributing to the implementation (deployment) of enterprise BPM governance processes, standards, systems, tools, training, reporting, and ongoing communication by:
    • Defining and managing processes to identify and collect goals, objectives and leadership/oversight direction that shape the BPM governance strategy.
    • Documenting high-level requirements to help transform strategic objectives into the design and deployment of BPM governance processes.
    • Maintaining the BPM governance model, including facilitating the design of operating principles, structure, roles, responsibilities, accountabilities and supporting tools.
    • Identifying and evaluating enterprise policies that relate to BPM, and facilitating the integration of policy requirements into the ongoing maintenance of the BPM governance capability.
    • Interfacing with policy teams to understand and contribute to the development of enterprise policies that relate to BPM execution (including the Business Process Management policy), and communicating relevant policy information to BPM stakeholders as needed.
    • Tracking the ongoing development of the BPM governance capability and delivering periodic executive-level progress reports.
  • Helping to create and sustain the value proposition of BPM governance by:
    • Maintaining a view of all of the BPM governance key initiatives, deliverables, and commitments.
    • Using data and reporting to prepare and deliver BPM governance business reviews and other BPM governance updates to multiple levels of BPM leadership and executive leadership across the company.
    • Facilitating the preparation and delivery of updates on BPM governance to BPM-related committees and other internal or external stakeholder forums, as needed.
    • Developing and conducting periodic assessments of BPM governance maturity and collecting feedback to facilitate continuous improvement of the BPM governance operating model.
    • Identifying and analyzing internal and external environmental factors (for example, legal or regulatory obligations) and trends in the business environment that may impact BPM execution and therefore influence governance design.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to more junior members of the team, as needed.
  • Leading small projects and managing, leading or working closely with people both onshore and offshore within the team and across peer groups.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning

  • Familiarization with Agile tools like JIRA, CA Rally
  • Proven leadership skills to drive conversation and help create alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • Successful candidates will possess and be articulate about their demonstrated leadership capability. 
  • Ability to influence executive decision-making, successfully negotiate critical issue resolution related to program initiatives, and articulate proposed solutions to various levels of staff and leadership.
  • Strong project management, relationship management, influencing, vision, and execution skills, with ability to work and influence successfully within a team/matrix environment and across all organizational levels and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members.
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to translate leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives.
  • Technical understanding of business process management to contribute to the implementation of effective governance processes.
  • Understanding of business process management governance or other corporate/enterprise function governance, with a focus on using data to build and maintain governance effectiveness.
  • Process design or process improvement experience.
  • Understanding of corporate/enterprise function governance, with experience understanding and ensuring adherence to policy and procedure expectations, and providing governance consultation.
  • Experience with authoring or interpreting corporate policies; legal experience is helpful.
  • Experience working in an agile environment, including authoring executable user stories from broad topics and ideas.
  • Experience with analytics, data management and reporting.

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
