Committed to Advancing Excellence and Equity in Education, the Graduate School of Education ( GSE ) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick seeks an outstanding non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice to join the school and Rutgers program faculty in the CACREP Accredited School Counseling Program. The Program in School Counseling is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The CACREP - Accredited Program in School Counseling prepares school counseling professionals who are culturally responsive to the diverse needs of youth in grades Pre-K through 12, their families, the schools that they attend. Central Responsibilities of Position: The successful candidate will assume an active role in the CACREP Accredited School Counseling program. Responsibilities include teaching approximately 21 credits per academic year, graduate student advisement, administrative duties, and service. The curriculum includes core content and specialty coursework in the school counseling discipline, and clinical instruction (school counseling practicum and internship). Subject to the availability of funding, the position will begin September, 2021. Minimum Education and Experience: We seek candidates for the Assistant Professor of Practice Level with an earned doctorate from a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program with a specialty in School Counseling who possess the following: NJ School Counselor Certification, Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ) or eligibility. A strong professional identity as a counselor educator, a commitment to graduate-level teaching and successful experience urban education settings are highly preferred Our school and university encourage applications from individuals who are members of groups that have been and still are underrepresented in university faculty positions.
