Administrative Services provides infrastructure and support to all Cornell Health departments, programs, and services. The Billing and Finance work team manages insurance billing for clinical services at Cornell Health and oversees the organization's financial operations. This includes executing and monitoring transactions for the health center, financial planning and engagement in the annual budgeting process, maintaining enrollment for the university's health fee, and providing customer service to students and other stakeholders. The Customer Service Coordinator is responsible for financial transactions at Cornell Health within the Pharmacy specific to payment of services, navigation of over the counter (OTC) pharmacy retail environments, and management of inventory and supply for OTC areas. This position focuses on routine transactions including bursar, fee for service transactions, insurance payments and their associated patient cost-sharing, preparing daily deposits. The Customer Service Coordinator also supports analysis of transactions for monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting, including assisting with inventory reporting and validating payment transactions. Please note: This position is considered an Essential Employees; those needed on campus to meet the needs of students, research programs, or general operations when the university is in reduced operating status or closed. This is a benefits-eligible, fixed-term position through June 30, 2022. There is no visa sponsorship available for this position. Success Factors A successful Customer Service Coordinator will have strong customer service skills, comfort in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, and demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills in an interruption-driven environment are essential to operate effectively in this role. Required Qualifications High School diploma with at least 2 years' experience in a customer service or health care environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with a broad range of people. Provide consistent professional, courteous service to customers in fast-paced office setting. Ability to work quickly, effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, use judgment in accomplishing tasks that are confidential in nature and balance conflicting priorities. Experience with computer applications: MS Excel and MS Word. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a health care facility preferred. Familiarity with insurance payment structures, basic financial transactions, and inventory management. Knowledge of Cornell on-line systems: KFS - advance deposits, Outlook, Workday, and experience with Cornell policies and procedures in the areas of payable and receivable.
