Managing Director of the EICN University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: 33658 Salary: $6,267 - $16,800 monthly Position Description: Under the supervision of the Institute Director, the person holding this position serves as the Managing Director of the Electron Imaging Center for Nanomachines (EICN), a shared-use Technology Center (TC) at the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI). The EICN Managing Director interfaces with Faculty from multiple disciplines in Academia and Industry to translate their research needs into equipment/process capabilities in a shared laboratory setting. The EICN Managing Director works with Faculty to develop research agendas targeted to funding sources and manages the organizational structure of the EICN; oversees EICN resources and staffing structure; and serves as a resource for other Institutional operations in technical and business areas at CNSI. Working with the EICN Founding Director, co-Director and Faculty Advisory Committee(s), the EICN Managing Director will manage client services for a current user base of over 1,600 researchers and will facilitate research projects in collaboration with Faculty and/or academic supervisors. The EICN Managing Director oversees all operational aspects of the EICN including staffing (five direct reports), growth of capability, technical direction, compliance with safety and regulations requirements, budgetary planning and spending based on the financial strategy developed with the CNSI and the campus.
