The Treasury Risk Management team is looking to hire a Liquidity Risk AVP to support the stewardship of the 2nd line of defense function on liquidity risk management cross the Bank, Broker Dealer and the consolidated Parent entity. Liquidity risk management's mandate includes limit setting and liquidity metrics monitoring, liquidity stress test assumption review and challenge, assessments of the liquidity risk management processes, interpretation of regulatory guidance and reporting requirements and communication of the material liquidity risk issues to senior management in both risk and the business. It is within the Wholesale Credit & Market Risk function at HSBC.

Responsibilities:
  • Liquidity risk identification, assessment and limit monitoring.
  • Assess the regulatory liquidity risk requirements including LCR, NSFR, and EPS liquidity stress testing
  • Perform sensitivity analysis to understand the impact of new trades / assumption changes on the liquidity risk exposures
  • Review the liquidity stress testing process including but not limited to the scenarios that are chosen for the stress tests and assumptions made on liquidity of both assets, liabilities and off balance sheet contingent liquidity exposures.
  • Reviews liquidity risk governance policies, limits, standards, controls, Contingency Funding Plans, metrics and thresholds to ensure they are within the defined corporate standards approved by the Board and ALCO.
  • Review and assess the first line activities and the governance processes to ensure Liquidity Risk taken is in accordance with the corporation's Risk Appetite and that the proper risk framework is deployed to measure, monitor and control the risk consistent with overall Enterprise.
  • Familiar with the regulations and guidance related to Liquidity Risk management issued by the FRB, OCC, FDIC, FINRA, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
  • Participate in data analysis and support material preparation for regulatory exams and ad hoc analysis including briefings to senior management on risk management issues.
  • Partner with control functions (i.e., ALCM, Finance, Risk) to leverage reports, routines, processes and systems.


Qualifications

Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, science, or another quantitative discipline.
  • 2~4 years of experience in a Treasury or Treasury Risk/Liquidity Risk Oversight function at a major financial institution, bank or broker dealer.
  • Fundamental product knowledge of secured/unsecured financing, derivatives and clearing of reverse repurchase, repurchase agreements and derivatives. Collateral experience is highly valued
  • Good understanding of the requirements and calculations of LCR, NSFR, Liquidity Stress Testing assumptions, liquidity risk reporting
  • Direct experience with Contingency Funding Planning, Intraday Liquidity a plus
  • Attention to detail. Consistency in verbal and written communication in various MS Office formats
  • Good understanding of the markets and the key market risk measures and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply quantitative techniques to solve practical problems.
  • Team-orientated, while pro-active and self-motivated with ability to complete tasks independently.
  • Good at handling a diverse workload of longer-term projects and short-terms asks.
