Under general direction, provides program requirements, plans, engineering, and construction expertise on in house BCC (Billiken Construction Crew) and non-BCC (managing vendors/contractors external to the University) Capital projects. Supervises daily activities of the Construction Crew, (known as the Billiken Construction Crew (BCC) including but not limited to cost estimates, determines labor requirements, and detailed project schedules focusing on all aspects of a project from programming to final occupancy; serves as a resource for campus administrators when selecting outside consultants (architects, engineers, and other specialty services). Job Duties Plans, coordinates, and supervises the daily activities of work performed by the BCC (carpentry, drywall hanging and finishing, painting, and floor finishing). Prepares cost estimates, determines labor requirements, and provides detailed project schedules focusing on all aspects of a project (BCC and non-BCC) from preprograming to final occupancy. Manages and guides the project planning process to ensure all details and project (BCC and non-BCC) program requirements are met. Monitors and documents construction project progress; prepares special reports as required. Coordinates and manages the selection process for outside consultants (architects, engineers) with user and SLU administration. Supervises support staff assigned to projects. Performs other duties as assigned.
