The Area Coordinator (AC) is a twelve-month, live-in professional position in Housing and Residence Life who reports directly to the Assistant Director for Training & Development. The AC will lead (3) twelve-month full time Residence Hall Coordinators and approximately 25-30 para-professional (student) staff members. Responsibilities also include oversight of approximately 1400 resident students in multiple residence hall facilities, residence hall facility management, and oversight of all administrative processes and procedures. The AC also serves on the Central Staff on-call duty rotation and responds to crisis calls that reach their level. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Supervision Supervise 3 full-time Residence Hall Coordinators, 25-30 RA’s which include weekly staff meetings, and regular one on one meetings with Residence Hall Coordinators. Work with Residence Hall Coordinators on their ongoing development and completion of their annual performance appraisal. 2. Educational/ Counseling/ Programming Leads professional and student staff in theme development and implementation of programs which assist students with personal, academic, spiritual, and social skill development outside of the classroom with emphasis on academic excellence and service. This is done in collaboration with departments across campus as well as with South Orange village resources if available. 3.Behavioral Intervention and Management Acts as support and assists Resident Coordinators with enforcement of the University student code of conduct by meeting with students that have violated policy and or are having difficulties adhering to policies or adjusting to college. Uses student conduct software to input incident reports and send student conduct letters, assigns appropriate charges and violations.. Serves as a hearing officer in the student conduct process. 4. Administrative Serves on committees as requested, manages assessment for their residence halls, completes quarterly reports for their respective residence halls, performance appraisals for supervisees, and tracks budget for hall spending and ensures accuracy. 5. Crisis Intervention Part of Central Staff On-call duty rotation which includes hours during which the office is closed, weekends and holidays. May respond to various incidents such as medical transports, alcohol intoxication, suicide, drug abuse, severe behavioral issues, domestic violence, etc. 6. Facilities Management Maintains and ensures accuracy in housing occupancy & billing reports throughout the academic year. Manages follow-up of work orders entered by in hall staff, communicates with Seton Hall Facilities and all third-party vendors to ensures prompt resolution of student’s needs in the residence halls. 7. Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Masters' Degree (1-3 years), Residence Hall work experience. Salary Grade: AD130 - Administrative Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt Physical Demands: General office environment Some lifting of items that may be heavy, standing for long periods or time, some extensive walking during peak work times periods of time.
